WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT INDOOR AIR........

Ductless Heat Pump Cleaning

We are excited at Nordic Clean Air to extend our professional cleaning services to ductless heat pumps. With the recent spike in demand for owning a ductless heat pump, it is now time to ask the question....is my system clean and is cleaning the filter sufficient? The answer is no! These systems pull air through at an accelerated rate resulting in the perfect nesting ground for mold and bacteria to grow. The perfect recipe of water, heat and organic material is everything that mold and bacteria need to start growing and being re-distributed back into your home.

Who doesn't love spring? but many are haunted by the allergies that present themselves. Fight those indoor allergens with these helpful tips!

Springtime= the perpetual to-do list......and ALLERGIES!

Spring is here and with it comes many opportunities to nurture your health. Warmer weather and the rejuvenating spirit of the season can be motivating for improving your well-being.

We have to keep in mind that although we consider our home a safe haven....the ugly reality is that our homes and apartments also harbor all sorts of allergens with many causing year-round suffering. However there are steps you can take to battle the indoor contaminants and to give your immune system a rest:

Reduce Pet Dander. We see this all too often in our industry where we are called to a client's house for a comprehensive cleaning of their HVAC system. Even though they now have a clean source of fresh air for the home...they still have the ongoing issue of pet dander. The solution is simple.....routine regular cleaning of all surfaces (Furniture, carpets, window coverings, etc.) as well as de-cluttering will give dander fewer places to hide.

Prevent mold and mildew. Proper ventilation and airflow are critical throughout your house. Continous cleaning in your bathroom and kitchen using antimicrobial agents will help reduce the risk of mold and mildew. If you have to, dehumidifiers are also a great tool for reducing moisture in the air having a direct impact on the potential risk of mold, bacteria, and viruses that thrive in warm, moist conditions.

Air filtration. Incorporating into your cleaning schedules and creating a good habit of always having a fresh new air filter in your HVAC system is critical. For a very low cost ($5-$10 a filter) a new filter is critical in trapping pollutants such as dander, dust mites and tobacco smoke resulting in a positive impact on the level of cleanliness in your ducts and indoor air quality.

Schedule air duct cleaning. Just like most of us do...spring time is used to clean all the surfaces in our home as well de cluttering. Our homes throughout the year in fact produces large amounts of pollutants that can amount to 30-40lbs in mass. All those contaminants are pulled into your home's HVAC system and recirculated an average of 5 to 7 times per day. Dirty air ducts can contribute to health issues, especially for those with respiratory conditions, auto-immune disorders, or asthma and allergies.

When you are ready to tackle those air ducts, make sure you choose a qualified contractor with NADCA certification!!
